Huda Kattan is reclaiming her power — and with it, full control of her beauty empire.
In a move that’s both strategic and deeply personal, the founder and face of Huda Beauty has officially bought back 100% ownership of her brand, ending an eight-year partnership with private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners.
Back in 2017, TSG acquired a minority stake in Huda Beauty, helping to scale the business globally. But now, in 2025, Huda has taken the reins back entirely — making Huda Beauty one of the few globally recognized, founder-fully-owned beauty brands in the world.
Kattan, an Iraqi-American beauty influencer credited with driving the mid-aughts trend towards bold makeup looks, founded the Sephora and Boots-stocked prestige cosmetics brand in 2013 with a $6,000 loan. In 2017, she sold a minority stake in the business to TSG at a $1.2 billion valuation. (source: Business of Fashion)
“Taking back full ownership of Huda Beauty is a deeply very important moment for me,” said Kattan in a statement.
